Cod 7/11 A

A separate flare stack was linked to 7/11 A by a bridge. The actual platform was tied to Ekofisk 2/4 R by a 16-inch oil/gas pipeline, to the Mime field with seven- and two-inch pipelines, and to the Ula field with a 10-inch pipeline. Nine producers were drilled beneath the platform. The accommodation module provided 52 beds.

The platform jacket (support structure) and module support frame (MSF) were fabricated by UIE at St Wandrille in France, while the production modules came from Burntisland Fabricators in the UK and the drilling module from Rotterdam Dry Dock.

Installed in 1975, 7/11 A came on stream two years later. The drilling rig with its equipment was removed in October 1997, and the platform ceased production and was abandoned in 1998. In addition to cleaning the process plant, the wells were plugged and secured. The platform was removed in 2008-13.

Process facilities for gas and gas condensate

Separation
Two parallel seawater-cooled oil coolers.
One three-phase separator (6.1 x 1.8 metres).

Test separation
One seawater-cooled oil cooler.
One test separator (3.6 x 1 metres).

Gas dehydration system
Glycol gas dehydration facility with scrubber and glycol contactor (20 x 2.1 metres).
Glycol recovery facility.
Filter for dehydration of produced condensate.

When Cod 7/11 A was shut down in July 1998, it had produced:
18 million barrels or 2.879132 million standard cubic metres (scm) oil
7.279260 billion scm gas
524 337 tonnes of natural gas liquids (NGL)

The platform was shut down in 1998 and fully removed in 2018.
