This was presented on 5 February at the seventh annual awards ceremony for outstanding players on the NCS conducted by Rystad on behalf of the Norwegian oil industry.

Gullkronen awards are given to companies, teams or individuals who have displayed the best performance in one of nine prize-winning categories.

According to the jury citation for the project developer of the year: “ConocoPhillips has delivered another milestone in the history of the NCS. By bringing projects in on time and below budget, the operator is ready for another 40 years.”

The jury went on to say how impressed it was at the capacity to deliver such wide-ranging projects while maintaining full production from the biggest oil field on the NCS.

John Devins, ConocoPhillips project director for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and deep water, accepted the award with colleagues Olav Henriksen and Tor Inge Hansen.

“Winning a Gullkronen in 2014 is fine recognition for the whole Norwegian project organisation and the extensive work being done to ensure that the Greater Ekofisk Area can continue to play a key role in the Norwegian oil industry for another 40 years,” said Devins.

ConocoPhillips also won a Gullkronen award in 2013, on that occasion in the class for best operator company on the basis of planning more wells to improve oil recovery.
